How billing works
One minute, one rate, one invoice.
Day 0: card on file, $0 charged
Checkout puts a card on file and starts a 7-day trial with a quarter of the plan's monthly minutes. Cancel before it ends and nothing is billed.
Day 7: the plan starts
The monthly price is charged and the full block of minutes begins. Minutes are metered by the second across every model, task, and realtime session.
Beyond the block: additional minutes
Minutes past the block are billed at your plan’s rate on the same monthly invoice, up to a spend cap that defaults to your plan price. Change or remove the cap any time.

Questions
Pricing, minutes, and the trial.
- What happens during the 7-day trial?
- Checkout puts a card on file and charges nothing. You get a quarter of the plan's monthly minutes to use over seven days, with full access to every model and task. On day 7 the plan starts and the monthly price is charged. Cancel before then from your account and nothing is billed.
- Why do you require a card for a free trial?
- It keeps trial minutes real. Card-on-file lets us give every trial a meaningful block of audio and let the plan continue without a second signup step. We send a reminder two days before the trial ends, and cancelling is one click.
- What counts as a minute?
- One minute of audio is one plan minute, whichever model or task you call: transcription, emotion and speaking style, unified analysis, or a realtime session. Usage is measured by the second with a one-second minimum, so a 42-second clip uses 0.7 minutes.
- What happens when I use all my included minutes?
- Additional minutes bill at your plan's per-minute rate on the same monthly invoice. Each plan ships with a spend cap equal to its monthly price so a runaway job cannot surprise you; raise, lower, or remove the cap from your account. If you would rather requests pause, turn overage off.
- Do unused minutes roll over?
- No. Included minutes reset each billing period. If you regularly finish with minutes to spare, the calculator above shows which plan fits you best; downgrades take effect at the start of the next period.
- Can I change plans or cancel?
- Yes. Upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge and a fresh block of minutes. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current period, and you keep your minutes until then. Everything is self-serve from the account page.
- Do I need a plan for the Python and TypeScript SDKs or the MCP server?
- A plan covers everything: SDKs, the MCP server, realtime streaming, and every file endpoint share the same API key and the same minutes.
- What if I need more than the Volume plan?
- Write to access@oruk.ai. Above roughly 100,000 minutes a month we offer committed-use contracts, lower per-minute rates, invoicing, and on-device licensing where the cost does not scale with minutes at all.

oruk specializes in building speech models for edge deployments — phones, wearables, and small hardware. The API’s transcription, emotion, and speaking-style task family is adapted to run offline on the silicon you already have. In the cloud you pay per plan minute; on your hardware you license per device, so model processing requires no cloud round-trip and cost does not scale with minutes.
