Ivan Semelyd, deputy head of communications for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, stated that May may be 1.5 degrees Celsius cooler than the climate norm despite recent warming. Historical maximum temperatures for May have previously reached between 29 and 39 degrees Celsius.
