Ukraine To Grant Junior Lieutenant Ranks To IT Specialists

Mobilized military personnel with IT expertise may receive the junior lieutenant rank upon being selected for digital transformation roles. The decision regarding these appointments will be made by the Minister of Defense. Candidates for these IT positions will undergo a two-stage selection process, including an initial screening conducted by commanders within military units. Commanders in military units will conduct the initial selection among mobilized personnel. This decision aims to allow specialists to serve according to their specific technical expertise. Military commanders are conducting primary selection among mobilized service members in defense units. The process includes document verification, requirement compliance checks, and interviews with representatives from the Directorate of Digital Transformation. This follows the Ministry of Defense's launch of an IT vertical to create a network of digital transformation specialists across all levels of the defense forces.
