May Forecast Predicts Colder Than Normal Temperatures

Forecaster Natalia Didenko stated that warmer weather will return to Ukraine in early May. Temperatures are expected to rise to 20 degrees Celsius over the weekend. Frost is predicted to recede by May 2 or 3, with daytime highs ranging between 11 and 16 degrees Celsius and occasionally reaching 17 to 20 degrees. Conditions are expected to remain mostly dry with clearing skies, though overnight lows on April 30 may stay between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius. On April 30, temperatures in Ukraine are expected to remain cold with lows reaching 8.11 degrees Celsius at night. Ivan Semelyd, deputy head of communications for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, stated that May may be 1.5 degrees Celsius cooler than the climate norm despite recent warming. Historical maximum temperatures for May have previously reached between 29 and 39 degrees Celsius. The forecast was discussed during a summit in Yerevan on Monday. The absolute maximum temperature recorded in May during the history of observations was between 29 and 39 degrees Celsius.
