Firefighters in the Netherlands are considering requesting international support to combat ongoing wildfires. Fires have been reported in Kessel and near the Amsterdam waterworks. The fire chief stated in an interview that the scale of the various natural fires may necessitate foreign aid. The situation in Kessel is currently being brought under control.

Hotspots Re-ignite At Dutch Military Training Sites
Firefighters received a report of a large heath fire in Weerd around 1:30 PM on Thursday. Pelenmaas Mayor Bob Fostermans stated the fire does not appear to be spreading further and seems to be coming under control. Firefighters from Weert and Mierlo are battling a blaze in the Heldense forests near Geuzendijk and Bulderbosdijk, west of Weert. Heavy smoke is visible from the A2 motorway. Campen Airport was evacuated due to the incident. Another fire was reported at a barracks on the Oorschotse Heide involving a 500 by 500 meter forest parcel. A previous fire occurred yesterday at the Harde defense site. Following a large fire at the Harde site, several new fires were reported today at various Dutch military training grounds. One major fire is currently being attended to in Oorschot. Previously reported fires at the Het Harde defense training ground have re-ignited at several hotspots.
