Netherlands Firefighters Consider International Assistance For Wildfires

Six separate natural fires are currently burning across the Netherlands due to drought conditions. Meteorologists reported 27 separate wildfires occurred across the Netherlands yesterday. Extremely low humidity levels, reaching approximately 15 percent, combined with eastern winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour, created ideal conditions for ignition. Authorities are warning the public to exercise caution due to the high risk of natural fires. Firefighters in the Netherlands are considering requesting international support to combat ongoing wildfires. Fires have been reported in Kessel and near the Amsterdam waterworks. The fire chief stated in an interview that the scale of the various natural fires may necessitate foreign aid. The situation in Kessel is currently being brought under control. Edwin Kokke, coordinator of the national Taskforce Natuurbranden, stated that international assistance may be required to combat various natural fires. No evacuation order has been issued for the Weerterbergen holiday park in Limburg despite large natural fires in the surrounding area. The duration of the current wildfires in the Netherlands remains uncertain.
