Two Miners Die In Colombia Gold Mine Collapse
Two miners died following an accident at a mine in Marmato, according to local fire commander José Hernando Gallegos. One victim died instantly at the scene, while the second victim, identified as John Faber Martínez, passed away minutes later. Local miners attempted to rescue a trapped individual, but that person also died during the effort. Emergency response teams are currently working to extract the bodies of the trapped miners. Fourteen miners are trapped underground in Colombia, and rescue efforts are currently underway. The exact number of trapped miners and the cause of the entrapment have not been immediately specified. Two miners died following a collapse inside a gold extraction shaft in the Echandía sector of Marmato, Caldas. One worker, John Freddy Campuzano, died at the site.
