Jingzhou City, Hubei Province experienced heavy rainstorms, with Gongan County receiving a maximum of 357.3 mm of rainfall from yesterday to early this morning. An emergency response for urban flooding was launched, and central urban areas implemented measures to halt work, production, business, and operations. At least 12 people have died as heavy rains triggered widespread flooding across China. Many residents in Jingzhou, a city in central Hubei, were knee-deep in water, with fish reportedly swimming in the streets.

Extremely heavy rain was recorded at 38 sites in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. This led to the city launching a level three emergency response for flood control.

Zhou Changjun, Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Jingzhou City, is suspected of serious violations. The investigation is being supervised by the Party Leadership Group.
