Russia Introduces Internet Whitelist To Restrict Access
Authorities in the Moscow region have begun restricting home internet access using white-lists. Internet users in Russia are reporting restricted access to social media and various websites. The provider 'Vsem Wi-Fi' stated that since Friday, only sites on the Ministry of Digital Development's approved list have been accessible. This list includes government portals, Russian social networks, marketplaces, and banks. Technical support for 'Vsem Wi-Fi' acknowledged that the disruptions may be linked to new operational restrictions. Russian sources suggest that recent internet connectivity issues may be linked to new restrictions on service functionality. Russia is implementing a 'white list' system designed to restrict internet operation only to authorized resources.
