Historical Incident Revisited In Retrospective Coverage
Indian opposition parties and other groups have accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of involvement in at least 10 bombings targeting Muslims. Allegations include a November 2003 mosque bombing in Parvani that killed one person and injured 34 others. Another reported bombing killed 68 people on a train traveling between India and Pakistan. The RSS denies involvement in all alleged incidents and has never been formally charged in these cases. One cited event occurred in November 2003, where two bombs killed one person and injured 34 others at a mosque in Parbani. A third event took place in September 2008 in Malegaon, where a bomb killed six people during Ramadan festivities. The statements clarify that while some individuals were arrested by police following these incidents, no RSS members were proven to be culprits.
