Fire Department Clears Cologne Cathedral After Odor Report
The Cologne fire department evacuated the Cologne Cathedral and its treasury early this afternoon following reports of a burning smell. 25 vehicles and 70 emergency responders were deployed to the site. Fire officials stated that the cause of the odor could not be identified.

“Am Kölner Dom hat die Feuerwehr Entwarnung gegeben. Am frühen Nachmittag war Brandgeruch festgestellt worden. Die Feuerwehr rückte mit 25 Fahrzeugen und 70 Einsatzkräften an und räumte Dom und Schatzkammer. Die Ursache für den Geruch wurde nicht gefunden, laut der Kölner Feuerwehr.”
