Chinese Merchant's Legacy Honored In Mauritius
Zhu Meilin, born in Mauritius in 1911, helped his father in their grocery store from a young age. Zhu Meilin was also a leader of the Chinese Anti-Japanese Support Association and organized the Chinese Land Defense Army. His grandson, who served as Mauritius' ambassador to China, facilitated investments in port, tourism, and financial services. A Chinese-Mauritian ambassador is actively promoting investment opportunities in Mauritius to Chinese companies. Zhu Meilin, a Chinese immigrant, left his father's protection at a young age and set up a stall near the Central Market in Port Louis, starting his first entrepreneurial venture. His grandfather had excellent foresight and, with a small amount of capital, opened his first retail store in his early twenties.

South African Airways Boeing 777 Crashes Near Mauritius
