Jihadist groups allied with separatists are expanding their influence in Mali with the objective of overthrowing the government. The military camp at Tessalit was reportedly evacuated yesterday by the Malian army and its Russian allies. No clashes have been reported.

The operation ensured the safe arrival of the fuel supplies in the capital. The White House issued a memo stating that President Trump signed an executive order imposing new sanctions. This event was reported by two different Arabic-language stations.

The security situation in Mali has deteriorated significantly since September 2020, with the state's authority further weakened since April 25. This decline is more severe than in January 2013 when Operation Serval halted jihadists advancing towards Bamako.

The Gnime Fla coalition, comprising rebels and jihadists, has advanced past Sévaret and is now in the outskirts of Bamako. They have also reached Kadal and Jawsh, declaring a total blockade.

Algeria is accused of supporting a terrorist agreement and is classified as supporting terrorism by classifying Azawad as an Arab movement. Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf stated that national cohesion within Mali must be strengthened.

Mali was struck by an offensive and found itself alone last week, despite Niger and Burkina Faso being obligated to provide military assistance. The countries of the Alliance of Sahel States, all led by military leaders from coups, had pledged mutual aid in major crises.
