Japanese Children's Snacks Recalled For Heavy Metals
Japanese children's rice crackers have failed heavy metal tests. Children's rice crackers manufactured by Kida Seika Seisakusho in Japan have been found to contain heavy metal contamination. The FDA's Northern Taiwan Management Center noted this is the only non-compliant batch of Japanese imported children's rice crackers in the past six months. The FDA will increase inspection rates for rice crackers imported from Japan to 100% for the importer, Perfect Communication Company. Several brands of children's snacks manufactured in Japan are being recalled due to contamination with heavy metals. Both original and vegetable-flavored products are affected. The FDA will adjust the inspection ratio for Perfect Trading Company to 100% at the border. Children's rice crackers from Kikuta Seika Co., Ltd.
