An NGO representative, Amadou Tinte of Conscience Africaine, stated that both government forces and armed groups in Cameroon's Anglophone regions frequently fail to distinguish between civilians and combatants during attacks.

Cameroonian defense and security forces conducted an operation against an active separatist group in the village of Zerennyam. The intervention took place between 3:00 and 4:00 AM on the night of Saturday to Sunday. The village is located within the Jakiri district. The intervention resulted in the deaths of at least 15 civilians, including women. The operation also involved the burning of houses and motorcycles. Cyril Roland-Béchond, executive director of the NGO Nouveau-Droit de l'homme, stated that the Cameroonian government must clarify the situation regarding security operations. The NGO reported that public spaces are being endangered and residents are caught in the crossfire. The NGO Conscience Africaine is attempting to verify the exact number of victims and the sequence of events.
