The Huangyang wood carving tradition in Wenzhou is undergoing innovation through the use of natural materials like branches, roots, and leaves. The craft has won awards at international stages and is collected by the National Museum of China. In the village of Gaohua Yao Village, located in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, Yao ethnic medicinal traditions are being passed down through generations. Local practitioner Zhao Chengtang manages approximately 7 to 8 types of medicinal herbs, including Roujincao. There are an estimated 188 Yao medicinal formulas, including over 30 specific types such as Zhuifengsan and Banbianfeng. Expert Huang Hai noted that the ecological planting and harvesting methods help maintain a forest coverage rate of over 80% in the region. Wenzhou Huangyang wood carving was listed as the first batch of China's national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
