Wittumspalais Reopens In Weimar After Renovations
The Wittumspalais in Weimar has reopened to the public following nearly one year of closure for urgent renovation work. The museum features a restored painting of Duchess Anna Amalia and her sons that had previously been overpainted. The Vitumspalais in Weimar reopened today with a citizen festival starting at 16:00. Restoration work on the Wittumspalais in Weimar has been completed, including repairs to the roof structure and a complete re-roofing. The facade of the Anna Amalia Wittumspalais also received a new coat of paint.

Gitte Tschok Named Goethe-Institut Secretary General
Cultural manager Gitte Tschok is set to become the Secretary General of the Goethe-Institut this summer. Her appointment follows her work addressing migration, flight, and social change in Europe. The Goethe Medals will be awarded in Weimar on August 28 during a festival celebrating the birthday of Jürgen Wolfgang von Goethe. The 42-year-old previously served as the founding director of the Goethe-Institut in the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 2015 to 2018. The appointment aims to further develop the institute through foreign cultural policy and professional training.
