Thai Government Addresses Economic Concerns

Labor unions in Thailand are implementing measures to retain workers by improving welfare, working environments, and organizing mental health activities. Over 70 billion baht was used in the first quarter of this year to support the workforce. These efforts helped the return-to-work rate after the Lunar New Year reach 98 percent. Tao Mengqin, chair of the Thai Labor Federation, stated that these actions aim to maintain labor stability. The price of labor has not changed in the past one to two weeks, with no increases or decreases announced. The government may use fuel fund measures, which were previously reduced from 10 million per day, to a maximum of 100,000. The country is facing five major issues, including war and high oil prices. The initiative aims to maintain labor stability amidst rising living costs and consumer prices.
