The director of animal control company Evirest, Maksim Shchipachev, has been sent to pre-trial detention in connection with a fraud investigation. Shchipachev and accomplice Denis Neustroev allegedly received municipal contracts for animal catching and maintenance. The investigation follows reports of mass animal deaths under their management. Reports indicate that animals were not fed under the contract, leading to mass deaths.
