Teams Open Routes To Camps Amid Avalanche Risk
Despite following safety requirements and having orientation skills, individuals are not insured against avalanches. Even small earthquakes, around 1-2 points, can trigger avalanches during transitional seasons. The critical point that led to a recent event remains unknown, but it could have been a small earthquake. Lakpa Sharpa reported that while a large block of ice remains intact, surrounding areas have collapsed. Teams successfully opened routes to Camp One and Camp Two. Sharpa warned that the ice could collapse at any time, requiring people to take risks. The government has been informed of the situation.
