176 activists from the Gaza flotilla were arrested by Israeli forces off the coast of Greece. They disembarked in Crete after an agreement between Israel and Greece. Thirty-one individuals required medical attention at Sitia Hospital, a Cretan city near the port of Eterino-Lakos.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 176 activists attempting to breach the Gaza blockade were detained in Crete. The group consists of citizens from various European Union member states and third countries.
