Archaeologists Discover Lost Palace Near Angkor Wat

Archaeologists have used LIDAR technology to identify a palace site near Angkor Wat that was submerged for ten centuries. The structure is estimated to be 40 times larger than previously documented areas. The discovery was discussed in the context of a new book titled 'La Tentation de l'Occident' published by Éditions Grassez. Researchers noted the site was largely consumed by vegetation over the last millennium. The project aims to document these findings before environmental decay occurs. The discovery is detailed in a new publication regarding the history of the region.
