Shi Yang founded a national school and an agricultural association in his hometown after his schooling was interrupted. He served as principal of the national school and president of the agricultural association, promoting revolutionary ideas.

Shi Yang, China's first labor lawyer, was born on June 13, 1889, in a scholarly family in Zhushan County, Hubei Province. At age six, he assisted his mother with household chores. At nine, he stopped attending school due to its closure and returned to his hometown.
