Hebei Province Faces Severe Reverse Travel Congestion
Hebei provincial transportation authorities predict a surge in highway traffic for May 1st. Traffic on Hebei highways is expected to double today, May 1st, according to local reports. Beijing traffic police issued warnings regarding high traffic volume at 57 highway locations ahead of the holiday period. Authorities in Hebei reported multiple highway closures as of 9:30 AM, including the eastbound entrance of the Huangshi Expressway in Changzhou Xiqiu and the Jinxiong Expressway toward Baoding. Hebei police have deployed maximum personnel to road surfaces to increase visibility and accident prevention during the May Day holiday. Authorities have prohibited dangerous goods transport vehicles from using the Jingjin Expressway during this period. Emergency rescue vehicles, equipment, and supplies have been pre-positioned at key nodes and critical road sections to ensure rapid response.
