The government is increasing monitoring of Hajj passports, specifically at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Authorities stated there is currently no evidence that Hajj passports have been misused.

Four airlines, Malindo Air, Sibu Pacific Airways, Lion Air, and Tiger Air, commenced operations at the new facility. KLIA2 is located 10 kilometers from the previous terminal. It replaces the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).
