Bosch to Cut Jobs, Move Truck Production to Hungary
Bosch has announced an initial job reduction program, with further cuts expected. The company plans to move its truck production from Schwäbisch Gmünd to Hungary for competitive reasons. This industrial relocation is expected to reduce the city's tax revenue, as Bosch was formerly its largest taxpayer. Job losses at Bosch will also decrease income tax collections. The company Isoun has taken over parts of the vacant Bosch production halls. This move aims to address the loss of many jobs, though Isoun cannot fully compensate for the lost employment. Only a handful of employees are currently working at the new location. The company aims to return to the top league, but has not yet achieved this goal. Efforts are underway to attract new industrial interests to the location. Automaker Bosch announced plans to cut jobs and move its truck production facilities to Hungary.
