Saint-Brieuc Bans Bicycles In Pedestrian Streets
The new mayor of Saint-Brieuc has expanded a ban on bicycles to include all bicycles, whether electric or not, in pedestrian zones. This follows a previous December ban on electric scooters by the former municipality. The mayor stated the measure aims to guarantee the safety and tranquility of pedestrians. One cyclist reported difficulty navigating the area with a child on a bike carrier. A new decree in Saint-Brieuc prohibits riding bicycles in the main pedestrian street from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 and 19:00. Cyclists are required to dismount and walk their bikes during these hours. Violators face fines of up to 150 euros. The reporter noted that many pedestrians appear unaware of the new regulation.
