The Free State of Bavaria will now contribute financially to the municipal theater in equal measure with the city of Regensburg. Former Regensburg Mayor Gertrud Malt-Schwarzfischer, who left office last week, accompanied the process for years.

Data shows eight people died in bicycle-related accidents in the region during 2025, seven of whom were not wearing helmets. This represents a doubling of fatalities compared to the previous year. Additionally, more than 1,300 cyclists and e-bike riders were injured in 2025.
