Proposals have been introduced to build a new waste incinerator in Port.

The state government continues to search for a buyer for the Wayala Steelworks. The facility entered administration last year after the GFG Alliance failed to pay over $300 million in debts, including state royalties.

Testing shows an algal bloom that destroyed much of South Australia's marine life over the past year did not reach Port Augusta at the top of the Spencer Gulf. Despite low algal content in the area, Jeff Bowie stated the environment remains out of kilter.

Recreational diver Jeff Bowie reported a loss of marine life and color in the waters near Port Augusta, located 300 kilometers northwest of Adelaide. Bowie, who has explored the area for approximately 10 years, stated he has never seen the conditions this poor.

Families and community members gathered at the Port Arthur Site on Tuesday to mark the 30th anniversary of Australia's worst mass shooting. The gathering took place at the site in Tasmania. The 1996 event resulted in 35 deaths and nearly two dozen injuries when a gunman opened fire.
