Only one individual was identified as a repeat visitor. The whales traveled approximately 8,000 kilometers to reach the area, and researchers noted the animals currently appear thin. Observers from Zbavednika reported seeing three whales, then five, and later two more whales on boats. A larger influx of gray whales is typically expected in May. The migration of marine animals into the reserve waters is expected to increase in May. The returning group includes males, young animals, and pregnant females.
