The driver, who was in training at the time, has been taken into police custody. Rescuers reported seeing four heads in the water and noted the victims appeared exhausted and unresponsive. The impact of the crash caused all vehicle windows to shatter, allowing the occupants to exit. Rescuers had to physically pull the victims from the water to their boats. The event brought the journey to an abrupt halt. Sources reported the vehicle was a school-type bus, which may explain the low number of passengers at the scene. A drone and a helicopter were deployed to the accident site.
