North Korea Claims US Blockade Threatens Oil Explosion
North Korea's state-run Tasnim News reported that an explosion of 4.6 million barrels of crude oil could occur at an oil export port. President Ebrahim Raisi claimed that only three days remain until an explosion due to the US blockade. He warned that reconstruction of the oil industry would be difficult if an explosion occurred, pressuring the US. North Korea is reportedly running out of space to store crude oil. North Korea's state-run media outlet TASS News projected an additional 4.6 million barrels of crude oil would be exported from its oil export port. If operations are halted, production could significantly decrease or cause long-term damage to oil wells even if restarted. However, some analyses suggest the possibility of an immediate explosion is not high, as a portion of Iran's oil facilities are already offline.
