German security agencies are seeking expanded cybercrime powers. This comes amid warnings of a ransomware threat facing the country.

Police in Tucheng, New Taipei City, searched a Hon Hai Technology Group facility regarding a breach of trust investigation. A former Hon Hai executive has been released on 1 million TWD bail and faces travel restrictions.

Hon Hai (Foxconn) stated that a search operation conducted by prosecutors on April 30 in Tucheng was unrelated to the company's financial or business operations.
