Four specimens of the extinct-from-the-region Lana lynx have arrived at a natural park in Neamț County. This marks a moment for Romanian fauna as the species had been absent for over 200 years. The animals will undergo a 30-day quarantine period to ensure compliance with sanitary and veterinary standards. Following this period, the public will be able to observe them from a distance. The presence of these ecosystem engineers is intended to help maintain the balance of local wetlands and meadows. Four elk specimens were released into the Vânătorii Neamț Natural Park in Romania. The animals originated from specialized centers in Germany, France, and Switzerland. This release is part of the 'Cinutul Zimbru' project aimed at restoring natural and diversified ecological balance. Specialists will monitor the animals before they are made available for distant observation by visitors.
