China's first 1 million-ton near-zero carbon steel production line has been completed in Zhanjiang. The project aims to upgrade a 700,000-ton steel plant to a 2.7 million-ton modern facility, supporting the transformation of steel plants in Southeast Asia. The technology relies on low-strain design and low-temperature angle techniques to control cracks, addressing internal cooling unevenness that can cause compositional deviations and weak points. This initiative is part of the country's efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
