Approximately 40,000 people are studying the French language in Kenya, according to the Kenya Education Ministry. The French language is the official language of Alliance Française. Dennis Musheru, a teacher at the Alliance Française school in Nairobi, works at one of the Kenyan schools teaching French. Kenya has become the first African country to introduce the French language into its school curriculum. The initiative began on the morning of the first day of the month, with French now being taught in public schools.
