A coastal town has successfully boosted its tourism, attracting nearly 700,000 visitors annually, many from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Increased intelligent monitoring is also being considered, especially for islands where 24-hour human management is not feasible. Cleaning crews are working to manage the waste in areas like Sai Kung and Sha Tin. While many visitors reportedly comply with regulations, the sheer volume of people, estimated at 1100 on May 1st and 2nd alone at Yamada Bay, Xiwan, and Longfu, contributes to the problem. Efforts to combat this include adding buoys and floats, and increased patrols by wildlife protection authorities. Vietnam has hosted over 20 million international tourists per month for four consecutive months. Total international arrivals exceeded 88 million in the first four months of May.
