Police are investigating the contents of smuggling balloons that landed in the Małopolska region of Poland. Six packs of Belarusian cigarettes were found attached to smuggling balloons that landed on a property near homes in Brzesko, Małopolska. This marks the first instance of smuggling meteorological balloons being discovered in this province. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Brzesko. The smuggling is believed to originate from Belarus. Ewelina Buda of the Brzesko Police stated the contraband poses no threat to residents. An investigation is underway to identify the sender of the package. Evelina Buda from the Brzeska police confirmed the package was secured and underwent pyrotechnic testing. Investigators are currently counting the contents of the package.

Hydrotechnical objects, flood prevention infrastructure, pumping stations, and embankments in the Małopolskie region are prepared for potential flood waves. Agnieszka Gądek from Wód Polskie stated that infrastructure is ready and monitoring is ongoing. Authorities said services will respond to developments in real-time. The Małopolska governor has granted approval to begin construction of an Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Balice Airport. The ILS will be installed on the existing runway to provide guidance. Eurowia Polska SA is the contractor for the project.
