Kassel Huskies Part Ways With Coach
Head coach Todd Woodcroft is leaving the DEL 2 club Eisbären Kassel after two years. The Canadian coach departs following a decisive defeat last week. Petterri Veikkaus will succeed Woodcroft as the new head coach. Veikkaus previously served as the team's co-coach for two years. Head coach Tod Woodcroft is leaving the Kassel Huskies following the team's defeat in the DEL-2 final against Krefeld. Woodcroft's two-year tenure with the club has ended after the team failed to secure promotion to the first league. He will be replaced by former co-coach Petri Veijalainen, a Finn who has worked with the Huskies for two years. The new coach is expected to lead the team toward a return to the first league. Assistant coach Peteri Vecci-Parta has been named the new head coach. The team reached the DEL2 semifinals last season but lost in the finals this season.
