Switzerland Installs Snowmaking Systems in Juw
Switzerland is installing artificial snowmaking equipment to ensure winter tourism stability. The system is being deployed in the Awaas Valley behind the Rofla Gorge. The village of Juw, located at 2,126 meters, will receive snow cannons at one of its two lifts. This measure aims to improve snow security for the upcoming winter season. Snow cannons have been installed at one of two lifts in Juw. The village, located at over 2,100 meters, previously struggled to guarantee ski holidays without artificial snow. High occupancy was noted on three specific slopes during the season. The Via Mala administrative region is funding a portion of the 6 million Swiss francs required for new snowmaking infrastructure. Local authorities in Rheinwald and the surrounding valley have decided to form an infrastructure company to manage the project.
