Militia Kills At Least 69 In Northeastern Congo Over Land
Armed men affiliated with the Codéco militia killed at least 70 people, predominantly civilians, in the gold-rich Ituri province of northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo at the end of April. The province, which borders Uganda, has been experiencing conflict for several years.

UN OCHA Reports Over 100,000 Displaced In Ituri Province
The MSF program manager in Ituri, Kibina Adam, stated that in 2025, the Ituri province had 1.5 million displaced people. The report was presented to the public and media on April 5-6, 2023, within the context of ongoing conflict. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that over 100,000 people in Ituri Province were displaced due to insecurity between February and April 2026.
