This sustainable cultivation and harvesting method ensures the long-term health of the mountains and water sources. The local ethnic culture expert noted the importance of this ecological approach. The Yao people use traditional medicinal baths to treat skin diseases, improve blood circulation, and relieve fatigue. To ensure sustainability, villagers rotate harvesting between different sides of the mountains each year. Villagers in the Gao Hua Yao village of Guizhou province are expanding medicinal herb cultivation to improve local wealth. The Yao people have established cultivation bases exceeding 600 mu.
