David Farley Leads One Nation In Farrah By-Election
The upcoming Farrah by-election is seeing a shift in political sentiment following Susan Lee's resignation in February. Candidates are increasingly focused on ending water buybacks and improving general water management. While the region has been a Liberal Party heartland for 25 years, the seat is now contested by Michelle Milthorpe, an Independent, and One Nation candidate David Farley. The election outcome is currently uncertain as traditional party dominance faces challenges. This election follows the resignation of Susan Lee in February. Liberal leader Angus Taylor defended the decision to preference One Nation over the independent candidate. Consultant Tony Barry described the Liberal Party's current strategy as driving a car with no brakes. Hansen spoke at an anti-immigration rally in Canberra regarding assimilation requirements.
