Some individuals or groups have objected to the planned advertisement of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) chief position.

Marzi Kubege presented himself at the Foslastus police station in Ekurhuleni last night. Kubege had been missing for one month since he went to pay rent for his spaza shop. Hundreds of people marched through the township on Friday calling for his safe return. Police stated that the circumstances surrounding the missing person case remain sketchy.
