New Canal Section Shortens Shipping Routes By 560km
A new 6.5-kilometer section of the Pinglu Canal has been completed to connect the Beibu Gulf area to the West River shipping trunk. The new canal section reduces inland waterway travel by more than 560 kilometers and aims to link the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone with the Greater Bay Area of Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Macau.

2,000 Workers Install Metal Structures at Pinglu Canal
Approximately 2,000 construction workers are currently working on metal structure engineering and sluice gate installation at the Pinglu Canal site. The project aims to enhance land-sea intermodal transport and automation capabilities in the Beibu Gulf. This infrastructure development follows long-term strategic goals for the Western Land-Sea New Corridor. The construction is part of high-standard, high-quality development initiatives in the region.
