SpaceX Requires $400 Million Insurance For Launches
SpaceX is implementing a hybrid insurance format for satellite missions in response to client and regulator requirements. The corporation requires clients launching third-party satellites to obtain insurance up to $400 million and sign liability waivers. For its own Starlink missions, SpaceX remains self-insured. In 2022, the organizer AXIUM purchased $10 million in insurance for the first private Crew Dragon mission.
