Air New Zealand Introduces Economy Bunk Beds

RTHK Radio 3 HK Auckland 17d17d Impact 3
Air New Zealand will introduce Sky Nest bunk beds for economy class passengers starting in November. The new sleeping pods feature a six-stacked setup designed for long-haul flights. The service will be available on select Boeing 787 and 789 Dreamliner aircraft. One specific route mentioned for this implementation is the 17-hour flight from New York to Auckland. The pods are intended to provide dedicated sleeping spaces within the economy cabin. The pods allow passengers to lie down during extended journeys. The configuration features six stacked sleeping pods designed to accommodate travelers' sleep cycles. Passengers can purchase access to these pods for 495 USD in addition to their standard ticket price. Cabin crew will provide fresh pillows, sheets, and blankets between each session. The airline aims to improve long-haul comfort by allowing passengers to stretch out and rest.
