Vietnam Reports 92 Million VNERD Subscribers

Deputy Director of the Telecommunications Authority Nguyen Anh Cuong stated that over 92 million subscribers have been registered on the VNERD system. The announcement was made during a regular meeting of the Ministry of Science and Technology. This data reflects preliminary statistics regarding subscriber registration in urban and industrial areas. Over 95 million subscribers have synchronized their data with the VNEID application as of late April 2026. This process aims to verify ownership of mobile subscriptions in accordance with Circular 08 regulations. The Ministry of Information and Communications reported that more than 34 million subscribers have yet to be confirmed on the platform by June 15. The synchronization is part of a regulatory effort to ensure mobile accounts are registered to their rightful owners. Approximately 900,000 phone numbers were reported as not being registered to their actual owners under new Circular 08 regulations. About 34 million subscribers have yet to confirm their usage status on the VNeID system. This confirmation process allows users to check all mobile numbers registered in their name to confirm active lines or reject unused ones. The initiative aims to clean telecommunications data and reduce risks associated with unregistered SIM cards.
