China's National Bureau of Statistics Director Liu Liehong has defined 'Token' as a core concept in artificial intelligence, translating it to 'yuan' in Chinese. He also released data indicating that in 2022, the measurement of data became clearly defined, distinguishing it from information. The concept of tokens is for training AI models, requiring billions of tokens to establish relationships within the model. National Bureau of Statistics Director Liu Liehong introduced the Chinese term 'yuan' for the core AI concept 'Token' at the China Development Forum. He stated that in 2022, the measurement of data itself received a clear definition. Liu explained that training a model can require hundreds of millions of tokens, said the importance of understanding their relationships within a model. He noted that the concept of 'token' has evolved from individual, unrelated units to interconnected elements within a model, representing organized knowledge. China has implemented 'Easy Purchase Exchange Heart' subsidies across Shanghai, Hubei, and Chongqing since May 1st.
