France To Replace Two Lost Rafale Jets
French Rafale F5 fighter jets are set to be armed with the latest Stratus RS missiles. This upgrade aims to enhance the combat capabilities of the aircraft. The development follows recent military procurement updates regarding advanced missile systems for the French Air Force. France announced plans to replace two Rafale fighter jets lost in 2024. The program will include a mid-life upgrade to the F5 standard for the entire Rafale fleet. Additionally, France is launching an intermediate tank program to replace the Leclerc tank, which is expected to reach the end of its service life in 2038. This acquisition is part of a broader military programming law involving 36 billion euros. The total number of Rafale jets in the French inventory will remain the same following these replacements.
